You Are You Mini Album

Hi! It is that time of month where I take my cousin Nicole's class at my LSS Remember When. We lovingly call her classes our monthly challenge because she does beautiful work and they are never easy BUT when you are done with her project you have a beautiful mini album! For the month of August she created a 6x6 mini album called You Are You using Authentique's Uncommon line. Very pretty, pink and girlie! I love it! There is always something in her projects you can scraplift and make it your own on your layouts or projects! This month she showed us another use of embossing powders, take a look at this video by clicking here. I give a mini tutorial on how to use embossing powders on paper flowers.

We used glimmer mist, glimmer glam, glimmer glaze, paint dabbers and Tim Holtz stains...lots of fun! Click here to see the video on YT and below for stills.

I hope everyone in the East is ok and survived Hurricane Irene! And everyone on the West stayed cool during this awful heat wave! Until next time...happy scrapping/crafting! <3TVG

Another way of using your embossing powder...

Hi Everyone - It is a hot one in SoCa, West Los Angeles hit about 95 which is nicer than some parts of Los Angeles which are hitting up to 109! I decided to stay in because when you walk outside a wall of heat just hits you! I somehow have managed to keep my apartment that does not have any air conditioning somewhat cool. It was a little hard crafting because I didn't want to create any heat by turning on lights! Anyhow, I have a cool little technique to share with is a new way of using your embossing powder and altering your paper flowers. I picked this up from my cousin Nicole in her "You Are You" mini album class at Remember When...there will be a post on the class when I am finished with the album...almost done!

Check out the video by clicking here and take a look at the images below. (sorry for the bad images and grainy video, like I said it was hot and I'm trying not to use too many lights).

Happy crafting! <3TVG

July OoLaLa Paris Wish Box Swap

Hello Everyone - I can finally post all the projects I've been working on the last month! Jade of JadedStudios got her box and has opened it! As I mentioned before I was in a secret sister swap and Jade was who I had for the month of July. Jade hosts a group on Facebook called Secret Squirrel Sisterhood Society, it is a secret sister swap with a different theme each month. The group is made up of an amazing amount of wonderfully, talented women who have grown into a family! The month of July was themed OoLaLa Paris, it had to be a wish box, the color challenge was to use black and the extra challenge was to make a banner or sign. I was so nervous having the amazingly, talented Jade.

For the month of August the swap theme is Vintage Girl Grunge and we have to make a recipe box with altered tabs. I have chosen to use the Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen line. I am altering a unibind mini album, a dress form where I will attempt to make a apron for the dress form and several other things. I will post as soon as I finish each project as I won't be using any initials or names on any of the projects.

Below you will find pictures of everything I made, I posted three videos of the stuff I made which you can find at the below links. Below is also a link to to Jade's response to everything I sent her, I was so pleased she loved everything!

Next adventure which I will post on Thursday is a YT 12x12 layout hop I'm in. I love the layouts I created for this hop and can't wait to reveal them! Happy crafting everyone!
