My Mind's Eye Projects Galore

Hi Everyone - Once again another posting so far in between...life has been a crazy one for sure. In the midst of everything I was able to get a few Remember When projects done! For the month of May we were given a team challenge with My Mind's Eye Indie Chic and my white ribbon challenge was My Mind's Eye On the Sunnyside.

The team challenge with MME Indie Chic was an easy one for me...the colors were great and was easy for me to grab inspiration from. The colors I had were very boyish, so I went with a very handsome picture of my godson/nephew. I had a lot of fun using my Tim Holtz dies and tons of layering!

Here is the 12x12 I created
I did a lot of layering with Tattered Floral & gadget gears die cuts and MME embellishments. I used the On The Edge Steampunk die to create a border with the design paper. I love the added touch of the Umbrella Man and Mini Old Jalopy die cuts. Hayden my godson/nephew is in 9th grade which was about 3 years ago. I can't believe he is going enter into 12th grade in September of this year!

The little extra I made was this super cute bag with three notecards. I got to use the new Tim Holtz In the Bag die! It is soooo much cuter than I had expected! So happy I bought the die! :)
In my design team kit I got the banner, brads, punch outs and a stamp set all from the MME Indie Chic paper line. I
used craft paper to die cut out the bag.

With the three note cards I used the brads, punch outs and stamps from my design team kit. I left the insides blank
The white ribbon challenge I was given the MME On the Sunnyside kit with a ton of paper and punch outs. I was at a loss at what I was going to do with this paper line because it is bright and very child like. I didn't know what pictures I would use or how I was going to come up with something cute enough to display at the store.

One of the great things about being on the Remember When design team is that I get products I would never even think about getting because of it's color or style. I am "forced" to think outside of box and be creative outside of my comfort zone.

So here it is a 12x12, a tag and a matchbook I turned into a "Summer Reward" booklet.
I decided to go with pictures of me and my big wheel! Used many of the punch outs such as the pin wheels sun and flowers at the bottom. The clouds are a very OLD Sizzix die which I distressed inked with Broken China (which has become my favorite distress ink of late) and I used the Broken China  Distress Marker to fill in the dotted areas of the clouds. The letters are from the Tim Holtz Word Play (LOVE this die) I used a lot of glossy accents as well to give the letters and punch outs to give them some demension.
I created this "Summer Reward Book" using the new Tim Holtz Matchbook die. I used the smaller of the two matchbooks. The letters are red Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type and the ice cream is from the punch out sheet in the kit. I stapled the bottom with Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.
Inside I attached ticket strips, I used the Tim Hotlz Ticket Strip die,  and stamped them with a Tim Holtz stamp (I know Tim Holtz, Tim Holtz, Tim Holtz...but you can't deny all his products are awesome :)

So this "Summer Reward Book" is intended for parents to use as an incentive with their children to be good and do good things. I did a little "instruction page above the tickets.
Here is a tag I'm not sooo happy with! I didn't do much to it but stick down a bunch of the punch outs. I did die cut out the flower! :) I'm not going to say much about this tag because I don't like it! :)

So there you have it my May Remember When design team projects...I'm so behind that I'm working on and almost done with the June projects! I can't wait to share the June projects because we get our designs featured in kits to be sold by the store for the upcoming ShopHop.

Until next time, check out my YT video and be creative! :)

Mini's galore...

Hello! I hope this post finds everyone well and being creative! I unfortunately haven't had much time for being creative with a move, a car accident and major work changes BUT I was able to squeeze in three projects for KARLAS001! We did a May challenge where we had to use at least or all of the following products; Bona's trim, ButterflyKisses Flowers, Pleaded Trim, Cynthialoowho Mesh Bling and Rosanne's Rosette Trim. These items were to be used on three little projects created for the design team member who we were given. It was a fun challenge to use all the products, which isn't hard since all of KARLAS001 products are awesome and we had a mission to make prettiness for someone else!

Juliana, iluvvintagescrap on YouTube had me...watch me opening happy mail from Juliana by clicking here and watch her video of the things she made me by clicking here, super gorgeous shabbiness!

I had the pleasure of creating for Jo, paperdrama on YouTube! I created a mini bird album and altered a mini box and bird house! I had so much fun altering and making the mini bird album come to life.

Check out Jo opening her happy mail from me by clicking here!

I used one of my favorite Prima lines from last year, Printery! I painted, used molding paste and mod podged which was a ton of fun getting a little messy! For more detail on how I created each of the projects watch the below video and see pictures.

I'm about half way unpacked and hope to get to creating again! I hope you all have a great day!

Card: Prima Printery: paper, butterfly and flocked rub on.  The fence is stamped using clear embossing powder, it is a Prima Printer stamp. I then distressed the edges and used Frayed Burlap and Forrest Moss distress ink to give the card color.

I got this mini bird house at one of the local Dollar Tree stores.
And here is what I came up with! I mod podged down the paper, distressed stained with Walnut Stain the peg and base. I also stamped the green vines. KARLAS001 products used: White Fancy Trim, Green Leaf Trim, Mini Crystal ButterflyKisses Flowers, Small White Bird (I alcohol inked it), White Mulberry Flower (I alcohol inked it), Green Cynthialoowho Mesh Bling and Pearl Spray.

With the stamped butterflies and vines I thought the 3D MyButterflyKisses Flower was a nice touch.

For the roof I used KARLAS001 Brown Pleaded Trim. I thought it gave a nice shingle effect! I added a Medium Bird that I alcohol inked. The vine and butterfly are stamped on.
This mini box is from the same Dollar Tree store.  The circle pattern was added on with molding paste using a circle punchanella.
"Love Wish Dream" mini box. Stamp is Tim Holtz. I painted the box with a paint dauber,  Juniper and then painted over the circles with Silver. Prima Printer embellishments: flowers in lower left, tile in upper left and bling flourish in lower right. KARLAS001 products used: Black Pearl Sprays, Brown Mini Crystal ButterflyKisses Flower.

Trim around entire box is KARLAS001 Organza/Satin Trim.
On all four sides of the box Prima Printery design paper, flower and KARLAS001 Brown Mini Crystal Butterfly Flower.
Charm made with Prima Printery embellishments and Jo's Shabby Crystals.
This mini album was so fun to make, using many of the Rosanne Rosette Trim. I had a vision in my head of using the Sizzix Dove die (Item #657361) and I have to say it turned out super cute! :) KARLAS001 products used: Wheat Spray and 3D ButterflyKisses Flower.
I love the two tone Rosanne Rosette Trim! For the wing I used a Pearl/Crystal Spray with a Large Crystal Butterfly.
Here I used these beautiful Black Crystal Sprays with a little bit of the Onyx/Black Cynthialoowho Mesh Bling and a Clear Mini Crystal ButterflyKisses Flower.
Here for the wing I used the Brown Flower & Leave Spray.
Here I die cut out a Tim Holtz Heart with Onyx/Black Cynthialoowho Mesh Bling and placed a clear 3D ButterflyKisses  Flower which I alcohol inked it with Pitch Black.
On the backside of each bird I covered with Prima Printery paper and embellished the tails. Here I used Prima Printery flowers with some Pearl Sprays and Rina BAAALING as flower centers!
Here I used the White Mini Flat Back Pearl Trim, some yellow/gold Leaf Trim, Large and Mini Pearl Flower Trim and a Prima Printery flower. I really like this one!
This one I used some white Bona Trim but I stained the trim with Antique Linen Stain, I then layered the Champaign Cynthialoowho Mesh Bling.
With this bird I used Brown Fancy Trim to create a nest, added a few wheat sprays and a Bona Flower.
A simple back with Prima Printery paper and my signature stamp :)

MME Lost & Found II, Union Square/Market Street

Hello there...I  hope this post finds you being creative or just having an awesome day! I'm a little under the weather but doing great! I wanted to share with you a few more projects I created for Remember When...I was given My Mind's Eye Lost & Found II, Union Square/Market Street paper line. I was to create a 12x12 double page layout and a card.

I completely struggled with this paper because it screamed nothing but LOVE, BEING IN LOVE...blah, blah, blah! LOL! The other hard part was that this is a Crop Project and that means I can only use what is in my kit, any dies in the die cut center at the store and whatever is in the RW basic class kit. Well, I live about 35 miles away from RW and hadn't been able to get into the store so it killed me not to be able to use any of my dies at home!

After a night of agonizing over what pictures I may have or what kind of pictures I could use on this paper...I finally decided on some and I am pretty pleased with the two layouts I created. I hope you like them, below are pictures and my YT video!

Thanks for stopping by...until next time be creative!

Charming/Adorable Card - paper used: Union Square: "Moments" Seamstress,  "Moments" Charming, "Favorite" Union Station. Distressed inked edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
Adore Card - paper used: Union Square: "Moments" Charming, "Moments" Seamstress, "Favorite" Birds of a Feather. "Adore" and Eiffel Tower are MME embellishments. Distressed inked edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
Cousins 12x12 layout - paper used: Market Street "Love" Demure, Union Square: "Favorite" Birds of a Feather, "Favorite" Union Station. MME Chipboard and Alpha letters. Distressed inked edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Besties 12x12 layout - paper used: Market Street "Love" Demure, Union Square: "Favorite" Union Station,  "Favorite" Birds of a Feather. Used MME chipboard embellishments. Distressed edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Stain

The Wonders of Turkey

Does the title say "The Wonders of Turkey"? Why yes it does!

From April 1995 to December 1996 I lived in Turkey on Incirlik Air Force Base just outside of Adana. It was a pretty cool and eye opening experience of a world outside the comforts of my home country, the United States.

In my April Remember When design team package I was given Bo Bunny's Weekend Market paper and embellishment line. It has this really old world feel to the paper and it made me think of my many pictures of Turkey I have. So I dug into the mountain of pictures and pulled out some really cool scenery pictures to scrapbook with!

I got to play with some of the new Tim Holtz dies too, I used Word Play and the Tattered Garland dies. Along with an oldie but now goodie, Vintage Valiese die. I also played with some Lindy's Stamp Gang...LOVE the shimmer!

Check out the pictures below for some more description of how I created the mini suitcase album and  12x12 layout. Also below is a link to my babblings on the projects on my YT channel!

Until next time...be creative!

Suitcase Mini Album - A Glimpse of Turkey

Tim Holtz Vintage Valiese die. I used chipboard for all the pieces. Anitque Linen, Black Soot and Walnut Stain Distress Sains along with Walnut Stain Distress Ink was used to get the old aged look.  I also used Ranger Puffs Embossing Powder on the buckles of the suitcase with Tim Holtz brads. The letters are Tim Holtz plastic letters and the brown sticker letters are Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type.

A picture of downtown Adana, buildings typically looked like this, more in "New" Adana which was more modern.

The streets of Adana were crazier than these pictures! A three lane highway was usually turned into five during rush hour. You would see cars, horses...everything on the road. The lights were not timed and if a light was taking too long and there was a car behind you they would get impatient and start honking at you until you ran the red light. Double edged sword because you had to look out traffic and being American the cops would pull you over before they would pull over a Turkish civilian. Needless to say I did not drive in Adana, I barely drove in the little village outside of Incirlik Air Base!
Mosques were everywhere. Some little, some huge, some ran down and others very beautifully kept up. At certain times of the day was the call to prayer and you could hear from the nearest mosque the call to everyone to pray. It was odd at first and freaked me out the first night in Turkey but after a week or more you didn't hear it until someone new to the base would point it out.
In "old" Adana and many areas of Turkey, there are half built buildings as you see on the left or buildings like on the right. When I flew into Turkey and I looked out the window to half built buildings with people actually living in them...I thought to myself...where am I and what have I gotten myself into? A lot of the time the construction companies would run out of money in the middle of building the apartments or houses. I certainly felt spoiled once I was on base and just the thought of the beautiful homes we have here in the United States.
This is the inside of one of the many carpet stores. We left there with two very large carpets, a couple throw rugs and hallway runners.
The burgundy carpet on the left is one we bought. We watched the guy on the right make a carpet.
The Mediterranean Sea...very warm and salty!

12x12 Layout - The Wonders of Turkey
In this layout I used four different pictures showing the different places I visited while living in Turkey.
The alpha letters are from the new Tim Holtz Word Play die. I die cutted the letters out on the design paper then used matte accents to give it a old vintage feel to them. I also matte accented the globe at the bottom.

The flowers are die cutted out from the new Tim Holtz Tattered Garland die. I  used the design paper and Tim Holtz Music Note tissue paper. The tissue paper was sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Etheral Emerald.
Key hole embellishment is part of the Bo Bunny Weekend Market line.
The key is part of the Bo Bunny Weekend Market line.
I almost forgot about the make & take I did using the Lindy's Stamp Gang Brown Moon Shadow sprays. I used a Tattered Angels butterfly stencil, a Tim Holtz quote stamp and sprayed white mulberry flowers with the sprays.

Check out my babblings on the projects by watching the below video on my YT channel.
